Adding qualifiers to an XML profile element or attribute

Qualifiers for an XML profile element or attribute identify values that can be used in instance identifiers. With regard to elements, you can add qualifiers only to elements that do not reference a type.

Procedure

1. Open the XML profile.

2. Select the Data Elements tab, expand the tree, and select the element or attribute.

   The element or attribute details appear in the Element Details panel or the Attribute Details panel.

3. In the Qualifiers table’s Actions menu, select Add.

   The Add Qualifier dialog opens.

4. Type the qualifier Value.

5. To include a description in the qualifier definition, type the description in the Description field.

6. Click Save.

   Focus returns to the Element Details panel or the Attribute Details panel. In the Qualifiers table, the newly added qualifier is shown.

7. For each additional qualifier you want to add, repeat steps 3–6.

8. Click Save to save the profile.
